Athena’s Little Owl

This is the first scratchboard piece that I started, though the second one finished. Once framed, it was my first piece on the gallery wall.

I like to encompass a lot of different faith views when I can, and this one sort of obliquely touched on my love of Hellenic Mythology. The Little Owl (yes, that’s what it is really called) was the species of owl that was most often symbolized with the goddess Athena.
